How we do our analysis

Every call comes out of the same place: an in-house model, weighed against years of history, checked against the latest news, and shown with the numbers. No hot takes, no guesswork.

Fantasy content is drowning in opinions. Everybody's got a guy. What almost nobody shows you is why — the actual data underneath the take, and the honest risk against it. That's the whole reason Fantasy Alpha exists. Here's exactly how a call gets made.

01

We built our own model

Every player runs through a model we built in-house — not recycled rankings or gut feel. It grades three things: opportunity (the volume that actually drives fantasy points — targets, carries, air yards, red-zone and goal-line work), situation (role and landing spot — depth-chart standing, committee risk, whether a trade or coaching change helps or hurts), and value (what that production is worth against where the player's being drafted). The inputs are real play-by-play data, expected-points models, current depth charts, and draft position blended from several sources — not vibes.

02

We weigh it against history

A projection is worthless if it wouldn't have worked before. So we benchmark against years of real outcomes — how similar usage, ages, and situations actually played out. That testing taught us the single most important thing on this page, and it's not what most channels want to admit: the draft market is sharp. Most "value" is priced where it is for a reason.

03

We simulate the season, not just project it

One projection is a guess with a clean font. So we don't stop at a number — we run thousands of forward-looking simulations of every player's season, built on years of real week-to-week variance. That gives us the full range: the floor, the ceiling, and the odds of a league-winning year versus a bust. You draft the range of outcomes, not a single number that pretends the season is already written.

04

We show the numbers

Every call ships with the data behind it — and the risk against it. You get the why, not just the verdict, so you can judge it yourself instead of taking our word for it. If we can't put a number to a claim, we don't make the claim.

The honest part

We don't sell secret sleepers

Here's the thing most fantasy accounts won't tell you: there is no locker full of league-winners that nobody else can see. We tested for it. When the draft market is that efficient, anyone promising you a stack of hidden gems every week is guessing — and dressing the guess up as an edge.

What actually holds up in the data is less flashy and far more useful: spotting the traps — the players whose surface stats hide a role change, an injury mirage, or a situation that quietly fell apart — and the small, real edges the numbers genuinely support. So that's what we give you. Five calls we can defend beat fifty we can't. That discipline is the edge.

The bottom line

Build on the numbers. Be honest about the risk. Show our work every time. That's the entire method — and in a space this loud, it's a bigger advantage than any secret sleeper ever was.
